Having a regular GP is very important to help with your continuity of care, and we do our best to ensure you get to see your doctor when you need. However, for acute conditions if your usual GP is not available, all doctors who consult at this practice can provide top quality care to you and your family, and will fit in urgent or serious problems when needed.

Dr Peter Rossberg is renowned for his compassion and history of developing strong, caring, and meaningful long-term doctor-patient relationships. Peter is also respected for his investigative skills, especially for those with multiple chronic and rare conditions.

Peter, a graduate of the University of Queensland, is a highly experienced GP – having been serving patients at Banyo Clinic since 1977.

With a large number of loyal patients, Peter is currently at capacity and is unable to accept new patients.

When not working at Banyo Clinic, Peter has been known to enjoy the surf.

Dr Craig Morris is an experienced GP dedicated to providing comprehensive care for his patients and ensuring that patient outcomes are maximized through a team based approach, involving multiple disciplines and other health professionals.

With a special interest in chronic disease and patients with special and complex needs, this approach ensures that his patients have the coordinated support they require, from GPs, specialists to allied health providers.

Craig is a UQ graduate and a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and have extensive experience – having also worked in Mackay, North Queensland as well as with the Royal Flying Doctor Service in Western Australia prior to commencing at Banyo Clinic in 1993.

Craig is also a well-regarded medical educator, educating the next generation of doctors as well as supervising our GP registrars and medical students.

Craig is an avid supporter of local businesses and the Queensland Reds.

Tracey values the importance of family both professionally and personally – proud not only of being mother to 3 children, but also of the strong connection her family has with Banyo Clinic.
 
A graduate of the University of Queensland and a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioner, Tracey has extensive experience in medicine, having worked all over the world, from rural Australia to posts in the UK at the Lancashire Royal Infirmary.
 
Tracey has special interests in women’s health – including cervical screening, family planning (including Implanon and Mirena insertions) as well as geriatrics medicine. She also continues to care for residents at Mercy Emmaus RACF, a role that she has been in since 1994.
 
Dr Collins has a loyal cohort of patients and has limited capacity to take on new patients.

When Tracey isn’t working she enjoys time with her family & friends & loves the outdoors – particularly horse riding & time at the beach.

John prides himself as a true generalist – comfortable with the wide range of problems and conditions faced by patients in General Practice every day.

He is highly experienced and has been working in General Practice for over twenty years.

John graduated from University of Queensland and has since then has been awarded fellowship by the Royal Australian College of General Practice. He has also developed advanced skills through a Master of General Practice and Diplomas in Skin Cancer Dermoscopy.

He is actively involved in General Practice Training, helping develop the next generation of GPs.

When John isn’t at Banyo Clinic, he is known to appreciate music, wine and cooking and his family.

Kelly is a GP of over a decade experience, who enjoys the challenges and rewards of partnering with his patients to achieve the best health outcomes possible.

He is a University of Queensland medical graduate and was awarded with fellowship at the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) in 2007. In addition, Kelly has special interest and post graduate qualifications in Travel Medicine and was recognized by the James Cook University for his achievements in Travel Medicine in 2013 with the MASTA medal.

Kelly is also an examiner for the RACGP and serves as an accreditor and advisor board member for QPA, a General Practice accreditation body for Australian GP clinics.

When not at work or study, you can find Kelly spending precious time with his family and miniature schnauzer, Maya.

Curtis has been a GP at Banyo Clinic since 2016, and loves coming to work each day to interact and work with his patients to improve their health and reach their health goals.

He grew up in Central Queensland before attending James Cook University in Townsville and moving to the “big smoke” in 2012.  Curtis worked at Redcliffe Hospital as an intern and medical officer before (finally) being able to begin working in General Practice. He was awarded fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2016 and is involved in teaching medical students and GP Registrars.

Curtis is interested in all facets of general practice and loves the diversity that general practice offers.  He loves to see all members of the family from newborns through to Mum, Dad and grandparents.  Outside of his clinic time he also looks after the residents of a nearby nursing home and a high school boarding house.

When not at work Curtis loves to spend time with his wife, and they enjoy exercising, bushwalking and mountain biking together.  He is also an avid follower of the Queensland Reds, although his wife sees this as more of a solitary hobby.

Dr Charles Elliott is a GP with a keen interest in helping patients with prevention and management of skin cancers.

Charles is a UQ graduate and a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioner and has also been awarded a master’s degree in skin cancer detection and treatment in 2014. He is highly regarded at Banyo Clinic as the in-house authority on skin cancer diagnosis and management, and frequently provides education and assistance to other GPs in this field.

Charles is a true local of the northside of Brisbane having been brought up in Northgate. He regularly attends St Francis Anglican Church, Nundah and for recreation plays tennis and the bagpipes.

Dr Hazel Tuck is passionate about providing high quality and empathic patient care. She enjoys working with people across all age ranges and strives for the best possible patient outcomes.

Hazel is interested in all aspects of general practice including women’s health, complex care needs and management of chronic diseases.

Hazel is experienced with complex care needs and considers that communication is invaluable in the doctor-patient experience. She is renowned for going above and beyond for her patients, and her years of providing high quality care at Banyo Clinic has seen her regular patient base grow.

When not at Banyo, Hazel spends time going above and beyond for her own family.

Dr Ben Mitchell

Dr Ben Mitchell is a GP known for his commitment for delivering high quality, evidence-based medical care for his patients.

A University of Queensland medical graduate, and a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, Ben has continued to contribute to not only the health and well-being of his patients, but also through education and advancement of evidence-based medicine within the General Practice community. He accomplishes this as a Senior Lecturer and researcher at the University of Queensland and is active in teaching medical students and GP registrars in training.

Ben has interests in all aspects of general practice from children to the elderly and everything in between, including chronic disease and men’s health.

Ben ranked first in the Banyo Clinic Bridge to Brisbane team, and can bake a delicious lemon meringue tart.

Penny is a passionate GP who enjoys the variety of general practice and working at Banyo Clinic to support her patients with all aspects of their health.

Penny ensures her patients receives the highest quality care through continuous learning and professional development. She is a graduate of the University of Queensland, a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioner and holds postgraduate qualifications in population health and epidemiology.

Penny has special interests in Women’s, infant and child, at the same time maintains a broad range of skills to cater for all aspects of general practice.

Penny offers gender affirming hormonal care and support to trans and gender diverse people and is listed on the TransHub Gender Affirming GP page: https://www.transhub.org.au/doctors

When not caring for humans (patients or her own family), Penny spends time caring for bees – and appreciates any advice from patients to help her enhance her beekeeping skills.

Dr Susan Bray GP – BN, MBBS, FRAGP

Susan is a GP who has dedicated her profession life to caring for the needs of her patients.

Originally trained as a registered nurse, Susan has extensive surgical experience, having worked in operation theatres for 20 years in both Sydney and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. She commenced medical training in 2004, and subsequently graduated from the University of Queensland, and was awarded fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners in 2011.

Outside of General Practice, Susan also works a surgical assistant with two specialist breast and endocrine surgeons – as a result, Susan also has special interest in the diagnosis and management of breast cancer.

Susan’s skills in medicine is complemented by a creative streak – with interests in all manners of arts and crafts, as well as musically, playing the euphonium in a concert band.

Dr Hannah Hegerty completed her medical training at the University of Queensland and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She worked for several years in the hospital system prior to commencing her General Practice training and has spent time in both metropolitan and rural hospitals.

Hannah has a particular interest in general medicine and women’s health. She enjoys the diversity of General Practice and caring for patients at all stages of life. She also continues to engage in medical education, working part time with the University of Queensland as a tutor to medical students.

Dr Andy is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners who enjoys providing compassionate healthcare to any and all patients that general practice has to offer. He is passionate about long-term patient-centred care, mental health and health literacy. 

Andy was born and raised in Brisbane and attended the University of Queensland for his medical studies. He has also completed a Diploma of Child Health through the Sydney Children’s Hospital.

When he’s not working he enjoys (sometimes) training for triathlons and (always) spending time with his partner and animals.

Dr Jack Gilpin

He is a former registrar of Banyo Clinic and has returned part time, with the rest of his week spent teaching the next generation of doctors.
Jack enjoys a wide variety of medicine particularly musculoskeletal and paediatric medicine.

Outside of work Jack is an avid football supporter (soccer) and enjoys time with his family.

Dr Liz Davies appreciates the opportunity to care for her patients, and to support them through the wide variety of health challenges seen in General Practice.

She is a University of Queensland medical graduate and Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, and has achieved the Certificate of Women’s Health, working in hospitals and general practice since graduating.

Liz has an interest in all aspects of General Practice, including Women’s health and family planning including implanon and mirena, and antenatal shared care; as well as holistic and preventative health. Liz strives to provide high quality and empathic patient care.

One week in eight, Liz works with the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Qld, delivering primary health care to remote locations outside of Charleville.

Outside of caring for her patients, Liz enjoys gardening and bird watching, and spending time with her husband, two young sons and cavoodle.

Katie graduated from Griffith University medical school in 2018, and has worked in both metro and rural hospitals in Far North Queensland and Brisbane before commencing in General Practice in 2023. Katie is interested in all areas of General Practice, in particular women’s health, children’s health and chronic disease management. She enjoys building strong therapeutic relationships with her patients and their families to assist them with their overall health and wellbeing.

Outside of work Katie enjoys cooking, travelling and spending time with her friends, family and her border collie Fergus.

Dr Laura Welsh grew up in Canberra and completed a Bachelor of science at The Australian National University before heading north to study medicine. She completed a Doctor of Medicine at Griffith University on the Gold Coast and spent her resident years at the Gold Coast University Hospital and Logan Hospital where she gained experience in a variety of fields.
 
Outside of work Laura enjoys arts and crafts and going camping.

Rachel is one of the latest recruits to Banyo Clinic! She is a graduate of Otago Medical School in New Zealand and has spent a number of years working in the Australian hospital service prior to commencing general practice training.

Rachel is passionate about unifying health and lifestyle, particularly in long term chronic disease management and complex disease pathways. Rachel believes in partnering with patients to achieve better health outcomes together.  

Rachel is an avid climber in training, she and her partner can be found most weekends at the local climbing hot spots. When resting instead, time is mostly spent at home with their kitten, Nala.
