Did you know – Queensland has the highest rate of skin cancers in the world, and 2 out of 3 Australians will be diagnosed with a skin cancer by the time they are 70 years of age.

Sun protection including measures such as the use of hats, sunscreens, protective clothing, sunglasses, and also avoiding sun exposure between the hours of 10am and 4pm are key to preventing the development of sun cancer. Regular skin checks, particularly for those with high risk, is also recommended to allow early detection and treatment of these skin cancers.

Dr Charles Elliott (MBBS DCH DRACOG FRACGP M.Med (Skin Cancer)) has particular interest and expertise in skin cancer detection and management, and has completed a Masters of Medicine in Skin Cancers.

No $7 Co-Payment at Banyo Clinic

There has been a great deal of media coverage regarding the federal government’s budget proposal to introduce a $7 Co-payment for GP visits.  Please be aware that, at this stage, the proposal has not been approved by the senate, and currently does not apply.

As such, the bulk billing policy at Banyo Clinic is remains unchanged.  If you hold a current concession card and make a standard appointment Monday-Friday between 8am and 4.45pm, you will be bulk billed.
