Measles Alert in Brisbane North

Queensland Health has issued an alert for a confirmed case of measles in a man from Wavell Heights. The man has visited a number of public locations between the 12th and 17th of January at which time he may have been infectious to others present in the area. These locations include Red Rooster Nundah at around noon on January 12, Clayfield Markets Seafood that night and Cardiotech Nundah on the 16th.

The man also attend the Banyo Clinic on the 15th and 17th of January at around 10:30am to 1:30pm both days.

If you suspect that you may have contracted the highly contagious illness (symptoms include: fevers, runny nose, sore red eyes and a rash), please contact your GP by phone and advise them of your illness prior to attend the clinic so that appropriate precautions can be taken to avoid further spread of the disease.
